06-03-2005 >> First try in polishing fuel tank, various small things.

06-03-2005 - The bottom of the fuel tank was a mess after shrinking parts of it (don't have a photo, but it looked like the fucked up top with lots of scratches and dark colored area's). I tried to clean it up and things turned out 95% OK. Maybe this is good enough (after all, it's the underside of the car), maybe I'll try to touch up some parts.

06-03-2005 - The front of the fuel tank used to look like this. This is a bit better. Don't think I'll put more time into it, as it will be hardly visible and dirty within a few miles of driving (with no normal way to clean it up again).

06-03-2005 - Grind-ed away the welds from where I stopped last week.

06-03-2005 - The handbrake cable normally goes under the floor (about 15 cm's behind the handbrake, welded a small piece on top of the hole). Because there's a big muffler in the middle under the floor, the cable will be routed through the car towards the modified rear sub frame.

06-03-2005 - This is where the cable will leave the car. In the rear you see a wide hole, plus a single round hole. It's really hard to work on this from inside the car, about 50cm deep under the boot floor. On the outside the rear sub frame is in the way. I think I'll lower the sub frame and continue to shape the hole from the outside.

06-03-2005 - Bottom of the dash. There used to be a dent in here. I'm getting better at hammering out small dents, which is nice.
